  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, state environmental agencies, local fire authorities).
  • Drive a proactive safety culture across all sites, prioritizing hazard mitigation, near-miss reporting, safety observation programs, and behavioral-based safety practices.
  • Lead workplace hazard assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and risk mitigation initiatives across thermoplastic, thermoset, and precast molding environments.
  • Manage incident investigation processes to ensure thorough root cause analysis (RCA) and prompt execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Define, track, and report key EHS performance metrics (e.g., TRIR, DART, near-miss volume, safety training completion, open CAPA closure rates) to executive leadership.
  • Design, deliver, and standardize core EHS training programs (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Confined Space Entry, Crane & Hoist Safety, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, Ergonomics).
  • Manage environmental compliance programs, including air permitting, industrial wastewater, hazardous/non-hazardous waste management, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
  • Oversee industrial hygiene monitoring programs (e.g., noise monitoring, dust exposure, air quality evaluations, chemical hazard assessments) tailored to polymer and precast operations.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations on Management of Change (MOC) processes to review new equipment, tooling, chemical usage, and facility modifications prior to implementation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and official inquiries.
  • Lead emergency response planning, business continuity preparation, and safety team training across all facilities.
  • Collaborate with HR and Workers' Compensation carriers to manage injury claims, support medical management, and drive effective return-to-work programs.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in plastics, polymers, or precast concrete is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing multi-site manufacturing operations.
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards, EPA environmental regulations, and applicable state/local codes.
  • Hands-on understanding of manufacturing hazards associated with polymer concrete molding, overhead cranes, material handling, and chemical processing.
  • Professional EHS certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional - CSP, Associate Safety Professional - ASP, Certified Industrial Hygienist - CIH) are highly desirable.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing multi-site safety programs that measurably reduce incident rates and foster employee engagement.
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) and continuous improvement principles (Lean, 5S).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, training, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams at all organizational levels.
